8/19: Almost missed a report for Suzanne S. and her party on the 9th of the month. They had a  good pick of stripers boating 23 stripers with a nice keeper for them.  We all had a good time and look forward to fishing with them again.

8/18: Frank B and family had a good pick of stripers in the inlet and bay, even though the weeds were very heavy they still managed 11 fish with two keepers.

In the afternoon Barry D and family brought ten stripers in the boat with Andrew again nailing a nice 32" bass.

8/16: Jeremy and daughter Harri on the two person special boating 9 stripers also with one keeper for them

8/15: Keith, Casey, Conner, Taylor and Matthew aboard this afternoon for a short pick of stripers. Managing 9 stripers with two keepers

8/14: Morning trip with Chris and crew aboard boated 14 stripers keeping three for the table. You would be amazed at the number of starfish clinging to the hooks, sinkers and chum pot.

The afternoon with Al, Bill and Bob had lighter action with 12 fish boated and only one keeper.

8/12: A short version trip today with Mike, Bob and his 6yr. old son Matt. A half dozen short stripers boated and with the help of dad, Matt brought in a nice 32" striper for the grill. Matt also boated a bluefish and said: "that fish put up a fierce battle". Kids are great.

8/11: A good weekend of fishing for our charters. On Thursday, Natasha and her family boated 6 stripers with 2 nice keepers and some bluefish. Friday's charter with Gary and crew started out with good action with short stripers and blues being boated before it was shortened due to incoming thunderstorms. Back at the dock just before the wind and hail started. Decided to finish at another time.

Saturday Casey and his Dad limited out on their charter with fish up to 32".

Sunday Mort and Todd back again to have a great trip in the inlet. Boated 24 bass with a keeper for each. Mort's 35" fish was the biggest.

8/6: Fished the end of the outgoing for only 5 short stripers. Water temp was 75 degrees. Incoming should produce better.

8/3: Three trips over the weekend produced some nice bass. The first charter only had two fish but they were both keepers.  One the second trip a nice keeper bass and a 21" fluke.

Sundays charter with Amar and family kept the little guys busy. Boating 21 fish with two keepers over the rails.

7/27: Called off a fluke trip we were supposed to have in the afternoon after checking weather reports and radar. The charter was very grateful when the storm hit, which would have been during mid charter. 50 mile an hour winds, heavy rain, zero visibility. A water spout was also spotted in the bay but not confirmed.

7/26: The morning trip with Wayne and Joey had good action in the inlet. 27 stripers boated for the father son team with Joey bringing one home for dinner. Fished the incoming tide. Weeds still a problem.

The afternoon trip with Steve and Debbie managed to boat about 10 bass with Debbie boating a nice fish for the table. Outgoing tide was very weedy.

7/23: Al and Bill back at it tonight.  14 bass boated and a few blues. Al boated two nice keeper bass, a 32" and a 31".  Left the camera on the boat so will post pics later.

7/22: Jim and Ken aboard this evening. Short bass were on the menu. 19 fish were boated with a few just missing the mark. Nice guys to fish with!!

7/19: Kevin W.'s morning trip had more flies biting than fish. Still they boated 12 fish with Patrick landing a nice 15lb keeper.

The afternoon trip with Mark and Richard had some better action. Richard was first to strike with a 44", 34 lb striper. His first striper ever caught. After 18 short stripers Richard again on with a 13 lb'er. Mark followed right after that with his own keeper of 19 lbs.  Weeds were very heavy today on both trips. Tropical storm surges bringing in a lot of offshore weeds.

7/18: Steve A.'s trip today had many short stripers over the rails. 20 fish boated but only to the 27" mark.

7/16: Barry and son Andrew back out tonight. The two boated 14 stripers with Andrew being high hook and showed off his angling skills by boating a 39", 23 lb striper. Good job guys!! Will have a picture posted on Thursday.

7/15: John and Donna had a great day of bass fishing today. They managed to boat 67 stripers on their trip and missed a few. A lot of blues in the mix also.

7/12: Mort and Todd again had a good day with the bass. 10 bass boated with a keeper of 29" and a cocktail blue. oat traffic was heavy today.

7/9: Nick from Eastern Star Cruises and his family out tonight for a mix of striper and fluke fishing. The fluke didn't show, but the stripers cooperated. After 9 shorts they boated two nice keepers for dinner.

7/8: Casey and her family today boated a dozen stripers again just shy of keeper size. Bluefish kept the action going for awhile, Always a pleasure to fish with Korean war disabled vet Harold!

7/7: The past week we have been busy boating a lot of short stripers. A few keepers in the mix along with many blues. Many of the stripers boated were just short, only hitting at 27 1/2 inch mark, but really fat fish. The numbers of fish have kept everyone happy.

6/25: Al and Bob fished the end of the incoming today for 32 bass and three blues. Al was high hook with 20 bass and two keepers. Bill, even though you couldn't make it today I'm giving you credit for the last fish that I landed at the end of the charter.

A good turn around from yesterday when Don and Lou only boated one bluefish.

6/22: The James K. party were on the fish again this morning. Again all short stripers coming over the rails, 23 to be exact. Still waiting for the larger fish to migrate East. Reports of larger fish being caught in the Fire Island area means we are not far behind for getting the bigger fish in the inlet.

6/21: Pamela, Todd, Mort and Kathy had a bang up day today boating 29 stripers, keeping a nice 16lb fish for their efforts. Really had a nice time fishing with the two couples. Happy Fathers Day Mort.

An afternoon trip with Brian and Dan again produced may quality fish for the two anglers. Missed a few nice fish but the action was consistent for their "3 hour tour".

6/20: Fishing slowed a little today for Don. Came out alone and boated 10 fish with one fish at 29" which he released.

6/19:  Jim, Doug and Dan  fished this afternoon for a dozen bass up to 27" in the inlet. Blues were plentiful for the trio keeping a few for the grill

6/18: A great trip for Don and Perry. Even shortened by the pending storm they managed 16 stripers between 27" and 35". All but 3 were keeper sized fish. They kept 3 between 32" and 35". Blues were everywhere tonight. Perry lost a fish in the 40" to 42" range about 15 ft behind the boat.

6/15: We had an unexpected charter today with Andrew and Eric. Started in the inlet for a few fish then moved to the cuts. They managed a total of 22 fish only reaching 27+". I am glad we got to meet and fish with the two of them. A good time on the water.

6/14: Chef Michael O. aboard today for short bass action in the inlet. He had a large skate which I was just getting ready to throw back when he said not to, that it was very good to eat. Back at the dock he cut of the wings and filleted them. Gave us a recipe for skate, but I think I'll stick with releasing them.

6/10 : Two fantastic trips today on the outgoing tides. The morning trip with Don, Perry and Rebecca, boated 24 stripers keeping one fish at 35".
The afternoon trip with Brian and his Dad was very busy. They boated 42 stripers and a few blues. All the fish were in the 25" to 28" range and all were released. Also had two tagged fish which I believe are fish that I tagged 3 years ago. Will find out when I send the tags in.

6/7: This mornings charter of Barry and his son boated 9 short bass despite the heavy boat traffic.
This afternoon John and daughter Melissa had 15 stripers come aboard keeping one at 15 lbs. First stripers caught for the both of them.
Kept one bluefish also.
Water was clean most of the day then the weeds took over

6/1: A good today with Janie, William, Anthony and Pete. The bass bite wasn't great but did manage to boat 10 with one keeper and a blue. A lot of fun on this charter.

The afternoon bite dropped right off. Couldn't find a bass anywhere. Early in the afternoon the swell in the inlet was about 3 feet so stayed in the cuts till in flattened. Just a few skates boated.

5/29: Bass fishing was good again this evening. The fishing turned on around 6:30pm. John and new angler Mike did well on short stripers and blues. Mike finished the evening with a 31" keeper bass. Strong SW winds made it a little chilly. Watched a bass chase a flounder on the surface then slapped it with its body, then gone.

5/28: Arrived at the inlet at 3:15pm to find bluefish all over the inlet driving the birds wild. Boated a few nice bass along with the blues. When the tide stopped so did the blues. Set up on the outgoing for a steady pick of bass for Al and Bill. Left a 6pm with the bass still biting.

5/26: Joe and his wife out this morning. The bite was really off. Brown tide has taken over the bay and slowed the fishing way down. One short bass is all we mustered and a handful of skates.

5/25: James Martinez, Paul, Mike and James Sr. aboard for a full day charter. Tried the inlet first then headed out to a beautifully calm ocean. After setting up in 80 feet of water started a slow pick of short fluke and skate. No keepers to be found. Went back to the inlet to catch the beginning of the outgoing.  jimmy Jr. managed to boat a bluefish and then a 30" striper. His first. Great day with a good crew of guys!

5/20: Connie, Sam, Fred and Kathleen, from Canada, out this afternoon. Fished the end of the outgoing and start of the incoming. Good action on the bass, boating 22 stripers with the largest fish at 35".Large blues in the mix.
All fish were released. All caught on clams.

5/18: Harold, Chris and Chuck out today. Fished the outgoing tide in the inlet. Chris boated the first bass, a 29" fish. Harold next then Chuck. The action was steady for about an hour and a half. Harold got his keeper, but Chuck was to stay with the short fish. Getting ready to pick up when Chris landed a 32" Bass.

5/11:  Jerry Lewis aboard the morning trip with his son Eric and Grandson Sam. A mix of bass and bluefish for the trio. Sam was the Skate King today. A good fight for an eight year old.

In the afternoon we had Debbie, Christine and Tracy aboard. A mix of fish for them also. A lot of fun even though there weren't keeper stripers today.

5/06:  Captain Nick of Eastern Star Cruises in NYC, his brother Paul, and their 91 year old father Joe aboard today. Started out looking for flounder with no luck. After an hour changed to bass fishing. Joe struck first with a 27" bass that we quickly released. Nick follows with a 6 lb. bluefish. Action never picked up after that.

5/04: Paul & Dan aboard with their sons Liam and Harry today. This is their 5th season with us and I am always amazed at how much the boys grow each year. As for the fishing,  we had some good action with schoolie bass, plenty of skates and bluefish. The weather turned out beautiful for the trip. Great job by the young anglers.

4/23: John and Donna aboard today. Skates were the bulk of the catch today. Donna managed to catch a nice 6lb Bluefish for dinner. A great day on the water. Action should start to pick up very soon with the warm temps we are having.
